Notifications

The bell, what you get notified about, and how to turn each one on or off.

mozExchange keeps you posted when something happens that involves you — a sale, a review, a job invite, a reply. You control every one of them.

The bell

When you're signed in, a bell appears in the top bar with a red count of unread notifications. Click it to open your notifications feed — the running history of everything, newest first. Opening the feed marks everything read. Each notification links straight to whatever it's about.

Two channels

Every notification type can reach you two ways, and you choose per type:

  • In-app — shows in the bell and the feed.
  • Email — sent to your account's email address.

Manage them under Settings → Notifications, where each event has an In-app and an Email checkbox.

What you can be notified about

  • Selling — your item is approved or needs changes, you make a sale, someone reviews your item, someone downloads your item.
  • Buying — a new (free) version of something in your library.
  • Jobs — you're invited to a job, a new message on an invitation, a new bid on a job you posted, you won a job.
  • Community — a reply to your comment or post, a new follower, your request was claimed or fulfilled.

The daily digest

High-volume events — downloads especially — would flood your inbox if each one emailed you. So their email is rolled into a single daily summary instead of arriving one at a time. They still show individually in your in-app feed the moment they happen; only the email is batched. (In-app is on and email is off for downloads by default — turn download email on and you'll get it in the daily digest.)

Transactional email

A few emails always send regardless of these settings, because they're records you need — most importantly your purchase receipt. Those aren't part of the notification toggles.
