The short version
- You keep 85%. The 15% fee includes payment processing. No listing fees, no subscription.
- Every archive needs a README with real install and use instructions. Free items too. Every version too. This is a hard gate — the upload is blocked without one.
- New sellers are reviewed (target: under 24 hours). After 3 approved items with no strikes, you publish immediately.
- Price between $1 and $499, or give it away free.
What actually sells
The listings that do well are boringly specific.
Use the real model number. A buyer searching BI-36UFD wants exactly that appliance cutout. "Fridge model" will never be found. Spec-accurate brand and model fields are the single biggest difference between an item that sells and one that doesn't — especially for appliances, hardware, and windows.
Be honest about CAM. "Includes CAM" is a filter buyers rely on. A visual-only model is a perfectly good product — sold as visual-only. Sold as shop-ready, it's a refund.
Write the README like the buyer has never seen your file. Because they haven't. A file listing is not installation instructions. Ten minutes here prevents most refunds and most one-star reviews.
Answer your comments. Your replies are badged as the creator. A seller who answers questions on their item page sells more of it — buyers can see someone is still behind the file.
Where the demand is
The request board is shops telling you exactly what they'd buy and can't find. Claim one, build it, link your item, and it ships with a "Built by request" badge.
Failed searches become requests. Requests become inventory. It's the most reliable place to find out what to build next.
